20-year-old climate activist Roheed Siddiqui wrote his first letter to president Emomali Rahmon on International Day of Clean Air for blue skies.

“I am taking a standby creating awareness and call for action against the climate emergency” Roheed said.

“I was 17 when I saw Greta Thunberg on News, I started following her on twitter and started educating myself about climate change, I spoke to lots of young people about the climate change and the danger it will put next generations, I was shocked lots of them didn’t have a clue about the changes and its impact on the planet” He added.

He even asked his schoolteachers to talk about climate change in the classes.

“Climate change is a global issue; all countries together can solve it, with small changes we can bring big changes, I don’t waste water, I recycle the rubbish, I don’t use plastic bags, straws and glasses, I have my mug with me all the time and I use it when I want to buy coffee.”

Tajikistan is highly vulnerable to climate change, according to United Nations framework convention in 2017, by 2050 Climate Change1, temperatures will rise from 1.8 °C to 2.9 in Tajikistan.
