The international Federation of journalists listed countries, including Pakistan,
Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Egypt t and Turkey as the most dangerous countries for practice journalism in Asia.
Young journalists are deliberately being killed in these countries for just doing their jobs: reporting on war, crime, corruption, secrecy and politics.
Afghanistan is among these deadliest countries where almost every day a journalist is targeted for being on the frontline fighting for progress and human rights. Journalists, — have for months been the target of bombings and shootings, forcing many to go into hiding or leave the country.
Nemat Rawan 28 a high-profile Afghan journalist was shot dead in Kandahar city on 6th May a day after the Taliban warned the media. He is the fifth journalist to be killed so far in 2021.
“Heartbreaking to hear that a friend and former colleague Nemat Rawan was shot dead in Kandahar city today,” Lotfullah Najafizada, head of Tolo News, posted on Twitter.

Director of the MOBY group Saad Moheni twitted “he was far too young to be leaving this world.”

His friend and colleague Fawad Akbarzai who is news anchor in TOLONews said: “He was very kind, calm, soft and well-mannered young man, he always had a beautiful smile, he was my best friend, we spoke few days before his death it is heartbreaking, they kill journalist to spread fear and silence freedom of speech I am also waiting for my turn, but I will continue working as a journalist till the last of my life.”

Afghan president Ashraf Ghani blamed Taliban and said Rawan's murder was a “terrorist attack” by the Taliban, however Taliban denied their involvement in the killing of Nemat rawan.
